Here is a little bit about this odd looking and sometimes dangerous plant. Yes , it's a real plant!
Mandragora officinarum is the type species of the plant genus Mandragora. It is often known as mandrake.
Because mandrakes contain delirianthallucinogenic tropane alkaloids and the shape of their roots often resembles human figures, they have been associated with a variety of superstitious practices throughout history. They have long been used in magicrituals, today also in contemporary paganpractices.
They are said to spring from the dripping blood of a hanged man. And if you dare pull it them from the earth , it lets out a monstrous scream, bestowing agony and death to all those within earshot.
